Variants of Design Studio: A Phenomenographi Research on Students’ Conceptions of Design Studio Environment

Especially in the last two decades, there has been a call for change design studio education. Today, growing body of unconventional teaching approaches is challenging traditional setting. Given central role instructor studio, each adopts an approach according to their disposition on and architecture, as well view education, some extent, they reflect course. This also enables students explore different architecture while exposing them pedagogical positions. scenario, viewed from students’ perspectives, raises intriguing questions concerning education range environments: (1) What embodied studios? (2) In what dimensions do differ regarding learning experiences? paper phenomenographic research aiming map current environments standpoint through conceptions. For this purpose, we interviewed ten graduates three architectural schools about experiences. Through analysis, elicited four qualitatively conceptions environments. Further cross-category analysis revealed that varied several dimensional themes. The results provide insight student’s perspective how are experienced. information may contribute our understanding environment, its underlying pedagogy, experience learning.
